Caleb Polaha was raised with art all around him. Stories, sermons, and songs were a part of his everyday life growing up. From an early age he found himself humming melodies and coming up with lyrics, but music truly began to pour out of him when he lost his grandfather, with whom he was extremely close, at the age of thirteen. Out of the grief arose a fire to create something that could speak to people on a deeper level. From grief to joy, heartache to falling in love, hopelessness to faith, his music attempts to cover a great span of emotion.
Polaha is based in Nashville, Tennessee, but was raised in Los Angeles, California. His family’s deep Southern roots and many summers spent on his grandmother’s land in Central Florida contributed to his great love of Country music. His sound is a product of these places: the expansive and alternative music of the West combined with the authentic storytelling and spirituality of the South.
His music has taken him across the United States to perform in front of audiences at venues such as the Listening Room in Nashville, Tennessee, DROM in New York City, and the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, California. With each show he is filled with the fire that was born from the grief of losing his grandfather and is inspired to reach people where they’re at by making a joyful sound.
